Father and Son Tiffs

In Greek mythology Zeus fought his father Cronos for control of the earth. I believe that fathers and sons fight for power in these stories because of the phycological thing in boys that makes them want to out do their fathers and get with their mothers. I also think that the fathers in the stories don't want to give up their power to their sons because the think that their way is the only way and their sons would mess up every thing they have accomplished.

Disney Archetype

There are quite a few archetypes in the movie Bambi that I was able to think of. Bambi's father would be the father figure in the story. His father could also be the wise old man but I think that the owl is more suited to be the wise old man. Feline is the maiden of the story because Bambi is the hero and falls in love with her. His mother is the earth mother because she takes him out into the world and nurtures him. I think  that the hunters are the anti hero because they try to kill the animals and succeed in killing Bambi's mother. The crows that come when the hunters are near are the tricksters because they alert the animals of the hunters presence. Finally the fire started by the hunters would be  a monster in the movie.
